( He leant against the tree and stretched his legs out, prepared to wait until she was ready to talk. He watched the way the speckled shadows shifted across her, occasionally highlighting her hair. Her braid was like a golden snake beside her shoulder and he didn’t realise his hand had moved until he saw his fingers running lightly over the coiled heap of her braid.
